Delmas Bevins

Delmas Beachel Bevins.  Delmas passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. He was a native of West  Virginia but lived in the Battle Creek area most of his life.  After graduating high school, Del attended Kellogg Community College for a year.  He then joined the US Marines, serving most of his time in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. He was employed at Bill Knapp's from 1962 until 1974 and then at Ralston Foods from 1974 until retiring in 2005 as a supervisor.  Del was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his family and friends. He played softball for Ralston Foods for many years.  Del enjoyed yard work, landscaping, and vacationing in Florida.  He was a member of Victory Life Church.  Survivors included his mother, Wennive Bevins; his wife of 46 years, Annita (Shaw) Bevins; sons Brian (Cari) and Chad Bevins; and grandchildren Dustin, Zachary and Madison Bevins. He was preceded in death by his father, Beachel Warren Bevins.
