Shari Brenner (Kaiser)

Shari Ann Brenner Kaiser.  Shari passed away on October 29, 1988 at her home in Boothbay Harbor, Maine.  Before moving to Maine, Shari was a medical assistant in Battle Creek.  In Boothbay Harbor, she and her husband owned the Crunchy Snail Bakery. She was a member of Boothbay Baptist Church, was treasurer of Beta Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and was former president of Minges Brook P.T A. Survivors included Shari’s husband, James A. Kaizer Sr.; son, James A. Kaizer Jr. (deceased in 2017); daughter, Sandi Kaizer; one grandchild; and her father and stepmother, Budd and Sylvia Brenner.

The following is what was said by and about Shari for the 20-year class reunion in 1985, just 3 years before she died.

“Shari and husband, Jim, have two children, James Jr. (17) and Sandi (13).  Since moving to Maine in July of 1983, they have owned and operated the Crunchy Snail Bakery.  Shari writes that Boothbay Harbor has a winter population of about 2,800 and a summer population of 58,000.  Son, Jake, has just purchased his first car, a 1947 Plymouth, and will be driving it in the Windjammer parade this summer.  Shari and Jim have been married for 19 years!  If any of us ever get to Maine, Shari invites us all to stop by the bakery.  They open at 4:00 a.m. and have delicious donuts!!”  The bakery referred to above is still a bakery currently under the name ‘Baker’s Way’ and different ownership.
