Carolyn Sue Cain

Carolyn passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a native of Battle Creek and lived in the area most of her life. Carolyn married Willard Ghere in 1969 and Douglas Heemsoth in 1994, unions that both ended in divorce. Carolyn had attended Bedford Bible Church in Battle Creek for the last four or five years. She previously attended Faith Assembly in Battle Creek, where she enjoyed playing the piano for the church. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, especially when they were good. Carolyn loved playing the piano, listening to gospel music, collecting elephant figurines and pictures, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and a "good" joke. She participated in PTA at her sons’ school and attended multiple sporting events. Survivors included her brother, James (Jane) Cain; sister, Norma (Greg) Dale; sons, Michael (Starlene) Ghere and Stephen (Cathy) Ghere; grandchildren, Joshua (Avery) Brennan, Catrice (Lawrence) McCarty, William Sullivan, Stravier (Kaitlin) Ghere, Nathaniel Ghere, Jordan Ghere and Jennah Ghere; six great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and her former husbands.
