Jimmie Davis Collins.  Jimmie passed away Saturday evening, April 8, 2017 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with his loving family at his side.  Jimmie was born in Dayton, TN.  His family moved to the Battle Creek area when he was three and he remained in the Battle Creek area throughout his life.  Jimmie’s career throughout life was in the printing industry.  He was employed by PM Systems of Battle Creek for many years until they went out of business. Jimmie was the consummate "Family Man." Everything revolved around his entire family especially assisting with "handiwork." He even renovated his own home - Twice!  Jimmie was united in marriage to the former Sandra Lee Parks in Battle Creek on March 3, 1967. Survivors included his wife of 50 years, Sandy; two sons, Jimmie D. Collins, Jr. and Shaun P. (Lisa) Collins; two precious grandchildren, Jessie D. Collins and Sarah Collins; four sisters, Hazel Collins, Reba Panczyke, Nancy (Mike) White and Rosemary Collins; and his brother, Carl (Betty) Collins.  Jimmie was preceded in death his 14 year-old daughter, Teresa Jane on May 3, 1982 and a sister, Betty Scroggins. Note: the "then" picture of Jimmie is his junior year picture from the 1964 Paean.

Sorry, but I don't remember Jimmie.  But he sounds like a great husband and Father.  I do send my thoughts and prayer for the whole family.  I know the family will miss him, but he will always live in your hearts.  Judy (Grace) Hewkin

Anytime one our classmates passes it leaves a hole in our hearts. I knew him only from the yearbook but he was a bear cat forever.

Martha Hoffman

I would run into Jimmie from time to time in the vocational building on my way to art class. Very sweet guy. Sounds like he enjoyed a good life. He deserved it.
