Glenn Nelson

Glenn Donald Nelson.  Glenn died of a massive heart attack on April 19, 2001 in Lafayette (Indiana) Home Hospital.  He was a native of Battle Creek and a resident of Colfax, Indiana.  After high school, Glenn attended and graduated from Sams Technical (ITT) in Indianapolis in 1967.  He moved from Battle Creek to Lafayette in 1970 and had lived in Colfax since 1992.  Glenn was an electronics engineer with Shambaugh and Sons in Indianapolis for the three months preceding his death.  Prior to that, he worked at Control Concepts in Indianapolis, and as an electrician at General Foods in Lafayette, where he was active in the union as shop steward and in safety control.  He married Judy Priest on Nov. 13, 1977, in West Lafayette.  Among the hobbies Glenn enjoyed was flying remote control airplanes.  Survivors included his wife Judy; sons, Glenn D. Nelson Jr. and Randy Staley; daughters, Deborah L. Johnson and Dee Staley, Sherry Adamson, Jennifer Burke, and Terry Staley; his parents, Donald and Rosa Nelson; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Casandra Farley.

I went to Sams with Glenn. In the early days of sams I road home with him. As I remember we were housed in the same buildings when we were in Indy. I guess I lost touch with him at some point. Rest in peace GGlenn.
