      Rayford Charles “Ray” Norris

Ray passed away on August 9, 2020 at a care facility in Lexington, Kentucky following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. He was a native of Battle Creek, Michigan. In 2001, Ray retired after 33 years with Clark Equipment in four different locations as they began building manufacturing plants in Kentucky and North Carolina, and one in South Korea. He spent the last ten years at Clark Equipment headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky as group controller over three domestic plants before moving to Hilham. In Tennessee, beginning in 2007, he served as president on the board of the Clay County natural gas company and as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce—positions he held for about 9 ½ years. I met Ray when we started at WK.  He had gone to Fremont and I had gone to Verona. We worked on some projects together for social studies.  I want to say it was Mr. Reed's class.  Went over to his house several times to work on them.  I think he was also in my gym class. Kind of quiet, but a real nice person.  My condolences to his family.

Although I did not know "Ray" at all. I am sorry for his passing. It looks like he led a successful life with a wonderful family.
