Joyce M. Poling Crofton.  Joyce passed away on January 1, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System in Battle Creek,  MI. She was a native and resident of Battle Creek.  Joyce had worked some 24 years at the Battle Creek Veteran Medical Center since March 1985. She had been a clerk in the details office for many years and for the past ten years in human resources. She married John H. "Jack" Crofton, Jr. on May 14, 1966 in Battle Creek, MI. Survivors included her husband: John; three daughters: Kelly J. and Randy Mitchell, Cindy L. and Harold Randolph, Jr., Mandy R. and Michael Giese; 17 grandchildren: Taylor Crofton, Samara Lawrence, Teyvon Lawrence, Brandon Knight, Brianna Knight, Brittany Knight, Alyssha Mitchell, Paige Mitchell, Marranda Mitchell, Jack Bulko, Armani Randolph, Amanda Randolph, MyCala Souza, Jaden Randolph, Olivia Randolph, Daniel Walker, and Darius Walker; five sisters: Kathleen and Joel Rodgers, Marlene Riggle, Barbara Simpkins, Karen and Dennis Ridge, Patricia and Jeff Slonecker; two brothers: LaVern and Linda Poling, Ronald and Gail Poling; her best friend: Jackie Fulcher; and her mother-in-law, Barbara Bridenstine. Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter: Tina M. Crofton (May 11, 2000), and two sisters: Deloras Case and Donna Case. She attended Argubright Business College. She was a faithful member of the Salvation Army. She was also a volunteer, member of the Home League, a band member, bell ringer, and any dinner at the church she would organize with her best friend Jackie, who would help cook. She had been a Girl Scout Council Leader at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She loved to read and was the best cooker and baker "in the woyld." Giving to her family and sharing her abilities with others at the Salvation Army made Joyce who she was - a caring and loving person.
