Darwin Stanley

Darwin Homer Stanley.  Darwin died August 31, 2000, in Portage. Darwin was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church of Battle Creek. He graduated from WMU in 1969. He became a CPA in 1972 and was professionally employed by the national Certified Public Accounting firms of Peat, Marwick and Mitchell and Seidmen & Seidmen, CPA's. Darwin was co-founder of Bredeweg & Stanley in 1977, founder of Stanley & Co., P.C., Certified Public Accountants, in 1990 and past president of the W. Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Accountants. Darwin's hobbies included travel. He had his private pilot license since 1981, flying his own twin-engine plane and he loved square dancing (as his parents did) and was a square dance singing caller for many years for numerous clubs in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, including singing at the National Square Dance Convention. Darwin was also an avid skier and tennis player.
