Chester passed away on September 25, 2023 at his home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Following high school, Chester attended courses at KCC and received a certificate in Criminal Justice. Chester honorably served in the United States Army from 1969-1972. For many years he worked for Clark Equipment and then the United States Postal Service in Kalamazoo, from which he retired. Chester married Brenda Brewer in November of 1967, and from this union two children were born. This marriage ended in divorce. Chester was a Facebook fanatic and enjoyed making posts and connecting with friends. He was very passionate about politics and the news and could hold a conversation with anyone interested. Chester enjoyed going to Planet Fitness and loved spending time with his family. Survivors included Chester’s daughter, Franchesca English; grandchildren, Vanessa Kilpatrick, Reana Carter; brother, Willie Lee English; sisters, Barbara Ford, Cherry Evans-Vassar and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Lee English and Narcissus (Johnson) Evans; son, Kevin English; brothers, Douglas Evans, James Evans, Teddy Evans; sisters, Mary Woodson and Alma English. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Chester will be missed as member of the BCCHS65 alumni.  I pass condolences to his family and friends.  Rest In Peace Brother Bearcat.

I remember Chester very well and how kind he was.  He was in a couple of my classes and always took the time to be a friend.  He is missed.

I did not know Chester English very well but knew that he was a popular student and that he excelled in sports while at BCC.

So sorry to hear about Chester. I saw a lot of his stuff on Facebook. The same with Nate McNeal. Both are missed. Good guys!
