Michelle Maxine “Micki” Shaughnessy Marshall. Michelle passed away October 17, 2021 at her home in Portage, Michigan. She was a native of Battle Creek and lived most of her life in the Kalamazoo and Plainwell areas. On August 4, 1967 she married John Marshall who preceded her in death in 2014. In the 1970s, Michelle studied social work at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and was a volunteer probation officer for the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Court. She later worked in sales at Braun’s Clothing. Michelle loved the sun and going to the beach, especially Lake Michigan, and going on cruises, especially to the Caribbean. She also enjoyed bicycling and kayaking. Survivors included her sons, John (Wendy) Marshall and Toby (Kelli) Marshall; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Lia, Chloe and Sydney; her brothers Norman Shaughnessy and Mark Shaughnessy and several nephews.
