 William McKinley “Butch” Richardson Jr.

William passed away on February 21, 2024 in Battle Creek, Michigan where he was a resident. In high school, William was a member of the Journalism staff and the Marching Band playing the alto saxophone. He then attended Kellogg Community College. William was employed at Clark Equipment Company for 20 years until they moved production operations to Kentucky. He was then employed at Post Cereals for 18 years, retiring in 2005. Survivors included William’s wife of 37 years, Patricia J. (McGilbray) Richardson; children, Betty Royshell (Gary) Watkins, Damon "Torre" (Jessica) Richardson Sr., William M. Richardson III, Richard (Shelli) Richardson, Kimberly A. McGilbray, Gene Gibson and Chanette Hightower. He also leaves to cherish his memory 13 grandchildren, Kymberly, Tra'Shandra and Lauren whom he raised and Jalen, Antoine, Brittany, Haley, Raina, Will, Kaleb, Damon Jr., Caleb and Tori Leigh; 13 great grandchildren; sibling, Wanda Addie, Ricky (Jamie) Richardson, and Marvin (Valena) Richardson all of Toledo, OH; sister-in-love, Min. Anne McGilbray; special cousin/brother, Michael (Jonice) Neville; best friend, Marshall Fisher; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. William was preceded in death by his mother, Verlena E. Cobbins; father and stepmother, William M. and Geraldine Richardson; daughters, Kelli M. McGilbray and Antoinette Allen; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Douglas Pattullo

Butch grew up in our neighborhood.  As kids we all played together with Nate McNeal and others.  Lost touch after grade school.  He was good people!  RIP Butch
