Shirley Mae Swift.  Shirley passed December 19, 1975 at Community Hospital after an illness of two weeks.  Shirley was born in Holley Grove, Arkansas and had lived in Battle Creek since 1952.  She was once employed at the former Custer Air Force Station.  Survivors included a son Marcus Delano Swift; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Swift; brothers, Andrew Lee, Dorrin, John, Robert, Leroy, Coyle, and Tommie; and a sister Mrs. Julius (Helen) Powe.
