Brenda Kay Wing VanHoose Young.  Brenda passed away on February 14, 2002 at her home in Battle Creek.  She was a native of Battle Creek. Brenda was a clerk at Stimac’s Grocery Store for five years before going on disability.  She was previously a Dental Assistant for 6 years with Dr. Syc and then Dr. Revard.  She had also been a clerk at K-Mart for 4 years and a hostess at Stouffer’s for two years.  She was formerly married to Wendell VanHoose.  She married Jerry David Young in 1971; he preceded her in death in 1975.  Survivors included a son, Todd A. VanHoose, her mother, Ellen M. Wing; brothers, Ronald E (Shirley) Wing, Brian L (Ginny) Wing; and grandson, Alex J. VanHoose.  She enjoyed talking, working on crafts, flower gardening, listening to people and children, attending her church, reading poetry, listening to music, especially Kenny G, playing Yatzee with mother, playing cards with children and shopping.  She had helped out in Cub Scouting for her son and grandson.  She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
