
James H. Allgood. James died on November 12, 1974 in Pryor, Oklahoma from injuries sustained in a railroad-related accident. He was a native of Battle Creek, moved to Pryor in 1970, and was a resident of Parson, Oklahoma, where he was transferred in 1972. He was employed as a brakeman by MKT Railroad and was on a run to Pryor when he was struck by a boxcar. Before leaving Battle Creek, James had been employed by Clark Equipment Co. and by Grand Trunk Western Railroad Co. James was a Navy veteran and served 1 ½ years in Vietnam. Survivors included his widow, the former Patricia Meece; his mother, Mrs. Marvel Allgood; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Scherry) Sturdivant; and a brother, Army Pvt. Charles Allgood Jr. of Ft. Jackson, S.C.
