Alton Bennett

Alton D. Bennett.  Alton died September 10, 2000. Alton served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War as a corporal from November 1967 to August 1971. He received the Vietnamese Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He had worked at Knights Inn in Battle Creek as a night auditor since 1993. He also worked as a bus boy at the Post Tavern, a manager at the Sizzler Steak House in Texas and Florida, a car salesman at Horner-Coppin, a salesman for Kirby Vacuum Sales and a manager at the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kalamazoo. He also was the co-owner of the Butcher Block for four years.
