      Gloria Ann Chamberlain Vise

Gloria passed away on June 9, 2020 at Glen Arbor Hospice near Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a native and resident of Battle Creek. In 1967, Gloria married the late Patrick Lin Russell (deceased 2004), with whom she had a daughter and a son.  After divorcing Patrick, Gloria married the late Johnny Ray Vise (deceased 2001), with whom she had a son and a daughter.  Later, Gloria married and divorced Michael Ross Noffkey.  Gloria gracefully overcame many challenges while being a single mother of four children. She was especially proud of her career as a preschool teacher and later, with the United States Government at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center, formerly the Battle Creek Federal Center. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to big gatherings around the holidays and birthdays. Survivors included Gloria’s children, Tammy (Steven) Schiller, James (Dena) Russell, Jonah Vise and Catrina Vise; grandchildren, Austin, Sidney and Dane Schiller, Janiya Jones, Beni, Luca and Ella Russell; sister, Pamela (Lester) DuCharme; several nieces and nephews; and ex-husband Michael. In addition to ex-husbands Patrick and Johnny, Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Beverly Sidnam.

My childhood memories are filled with Gloria. Whether school or church, she was a constant companion.  Always smiling, happy and eager to join in the fun. My sincere condolences to her family.

I remember Gloria living down the road from my childhood home, and her mother. A good and very kind memory.
