      Barbara Jean Coulter Lewman

Barbara passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020. She was a native of Phoenix, Arizona and a resident of Battle Creek, Michigan. After high school, Barbara attended Kellogg Community College, Ferris State University and Western Michigan University. Barbara’s first husband was Roger Lambert. She later married Roger Lewman. Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse all her life and retired from the Kalamazoo State Hospital where she had worked for many years. Barbara, along with her husband Roger, owned and operated foster care homes for veterans in both Battle Creek and Albion for 33 years. Barb enjoyed flower gardening and kept many beautiful flower beds. Other past interests included raising Old English sheepdogs and interior decorating. Survivors included her husband Roger A. Lewman; two stepsons: Mark (Nadine) Lewman of Portland, Oregon and Michael (Onda) Lewman of Parchment, Michigan; four grandchildren and one sister Judy Grady of Las Vegas, Nevada and her family. Barb was preceded in death by her parents.

To my life long friend, may your soul soar! We've known each other since middle school when we were 12 years old, over 60 years! We even went to college together. What a ride!!!
