Doris Irene McLiechey

Doris passed away on January 14, 2023 in Battle Creek, Michigan where she was a resident. Doris was a wonderful wife to Nem H. Cochran, wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when you needed her the most. She was a frisky lady, but always kept a smile on everyone's face. She enjoyed spending time with family and playing some good card games. She especially loved her comfort food. Doris had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Battle Creek. Survivors included Doris’ daughters, JoAnne (John) Capers, Melissa Cochran, Margaret Cochran; son, Nem (Shauma) Cochran, Jr.; grandsons, Jerome, Freddy, Devin, Michael, Christopher, Deshawn Jr., Montez, Monzel, Radiance, Malaysia, Jazzman, Tyiona, Tyiera, Ne'Mariah, Sha'Nasia and Sha'Mia; 29 great grandchildren; sisters, Phillis Webster, Patricia Mae “Patty” Brooks; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Oleda McLiechy; brothers, Thomas W. and Michael McLiechey; sister, Shirley Taylor; grandson, Tray'Shawn Cochran and great granddaughter, Nyeli Cochran. Doris was greatly loved; her memories will forever be cherished and she will be deeply missed.
