
James Ray “Jim” Tharp
Jim passed away on January 16, 2025. He was a native of Tulu, Kentucky and a resident of Dowling, Michigan. Jim married Vickie Maddox on April 11, 1989 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He started his working career at Clark Equipment with 21 years before their closing, and then retired from TRMI [Tokai Rika Michigan, Inc] after 15 plus years of service. He enjoyed playing pool, working in the yard and going to the lake. Jim loved his family and friends. If you knew Jim you knew he was particular, even when it came to washing dishes. Survivors included his wife, Vickie Tharp; step-children: Tonya Sharp and John Gaither; 4 step grandchildren; nieces: Tammy (Bryan) Skidmore and Teresa Westcott; nephew, Bill (Amy) Swallows; many great nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law: Dana (Frankie) Dillon and Judy Robey.
