Norma Ann Hastings (Brawley)

      Norma Ann Hastings Brawley

Norma passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Monday, May 29, 2023.  She was a native of Dayton, Tennessee and a resident of Battle Creek, Michigan. Norma was the oldest of two other sisters, Nancy Trumbull and Harriet McMillan.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Norma married the love of her life, Richard W Brawley, on June 12 1965. She was a member at the Church of Christ congregation. She enjoyed gardening, going to church, and taking care of her home; but her biggest joy was devoting her life to her family and God. Family meant everything to her.  She would say that her heart was full when her family was with her. Norma’s hobbies included reading, gardening and sewing. Survivors included Norma’s four children, Richard, James, John, and Tonja Brawley; a grandson, Cody Brawley; great grandson, Bowie Brawley; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Brawley and a son-in-law to be, Lee Roberts. Norma had many special in-laws, nieces, and nephews who she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Brawley; son, James Harrison Brawley; son, Richard H Brawley; and both of her parents, Harrison and Gladys Hastings.
